What personal data we collect and why we collect it


When readers interact with our page by leaving comments on the site, we save the content of the comments form, and the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to avoid spam.

An anonymous string created from readers email address (a hash) can be provided to the Gravatar service to detects its use. The Gravatar privacy policy: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After we approve readers your comment, readers profile picture is visible to the public alongside the comment.


If you upload images to the website, you must avoid uploading images with location data (EXIF GPS for example).


The quickest way to get in contact with us is be leaving a comment on any section of the page. We will respond within 24 hours to non-spam comments.


Leaving a comment may lead to (if opted-in)  saving your name, email, and website in cookies. This is for readers convenience so that new comments do not require a login. This cookie will last for up to one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we set a temporary cookie to determine if readers browser accepts our cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and will be discarded when the browser is closed.

Upon login, cookies will save readers login information and screen display settings. Login cookies last for up to two days, and screen settings cookies last up to one year. If reader select “Remember Me”,  login will persist for up to two weeks. Upon logout of account,  cookies will be removed.

If someone edits or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in the browser. This cookie includes no personal data, it indicates the post ID of the article just edited. This cookie expires after 1 day.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
